Customer Reviews
I was washing butts like twice a week and honestly I was so over it. Mixed this into their feed and after maybe 2 weeks droppings got way firmer. Its been about a month now and I havent had to wash a single hen. Their vents just stay clean on their own now. I dont know why I didnt try this sooner
My girls dropped from 8 eggs a day down to 2 or 3 out of nowhere. Tried oyster shell, ACV in the water, nothing. About 5 weeks on this stuff and were back up to 6 or 7. The shells are noticeably thicker too. They just seem like happier birds, more scratching around the yard instead of just sitting there
One of my girls had a bare patch on her back for months, tried everything I could think of. About 6 weeks in I noticed little pin feathers coming in right where it was bald. Her comb looks way more red too. You just mix it in and they eat it like normal they dont even know its there
I was finding cracked eggs in the nest box almost every day. Tried oyster shell and it didnt really help. About 3 weeks on this and the shells got so much harder, I actually noticed when I cracked one for breakfast. Havent found a broken egg in the box since week 4
I tried garlic water, pumpkin seeds, ACV, you name it. Nothing ever stuck. My husband said I was wasting money on another thing but I figured why not. About a month in the girls are way more active, scratching around all day instead of just sitting on the roost. Even he noticed the difference so thats saying something lol
The poop situation was bad, like watery and gross every single day. I was worried something was really wrong. Started this and within about 10 days everything firmed up. The coop is way easier to clean now and I dont dread going out there in the morning anymore
My vet found worms last spring and I had to do a whole round of treatment plus throw out eggs for weeks. Started using this daily after that because I didnt want to go through it again. Just had another fecal done and everything came back clean. Im keeping this in their feed from now on
I have 4 chickens and 3 ducks and wasnt sure if the ducks could eat it. They can and they dont care at all, just eat their feed like normal. The ducks had really runny poop before and its gotten so much better. Wish I knew about this stuff a year ago
A couple of my hens had pale floppy combs for a while and I couldnt figure out what was going on. About a month on this and their combs perked back up and got that deep red color again. They just look healthier all around, way more energy too
I mixed a whole pouch into a 50 lb bag of feed and thats it. I dont have to remember to do anything extra every morning, its just already in there. Way easier than adding stuff to their water or trying to get them to eat garlic cloves lol
Every time I had to deworm I couldnt use the eggs for like 2 weeks and it drove me crazy. Now I just keep this in their feed daily and I never have to worry about throwing eggs out. My girls have been on it 3 months and everything has been great
Got Questions?
Everything You Need to Know
What is Bolura Daily Flock Defence?
It's a chili mix with oregano, garlic, black pepper, and flaxseed that you mix into your flock's feed every day. It's made to support their gut and their natural defenses, so the food they eat goes to their feathers, eggs, and body.
How is this different from adding oregano or garlic myself?
Oil dropped in a waterer floats on top, so one hen gets a big gulp and the next hen gets none. Loose herbs are hard to measure, and some hens eat a lot while others eat none.
Bolura is mixed into the feed at a set amount, so every scoop has the same blend. The flaxseed also gives the oregano something to hold onto so it can travel farther down the gut, which is where worms live.
Is this a dewormer?
No. Bolura is a daily feed supplement, not a medicine. It's made for everyday support so your flock stays in good shape. If you see worms or a bird looks sick, please talk to your vet.
How much do I use?
Mix 1 pouch into a 50 lb bag of feed and feed as normal. If you hand feed, use 2 tablespoons for every 3 to 7 chickens each day. One pouch lasts about a month for a flock of 3 to 7 hens.
How long before I notice something?
Most owners start with cleaner droppings and vents in the first few weeks. Things like feathers and shells take longer, because new feathers and eggs take time to grow. That's why we give it 60 days, and every flock is a little different.
Can I eat the eggs while using this?
Yes! Bolura is all natural, so there's no egg withdrawal period. You can keep eating, selling, or giving away your eggs like normal.
Will my flock eat it?
Yes. Chickens and ducks can't taste spice, so they won't even notice the chili. Just mix it in and they'll eat like they always do.
Can ducks & other poultry eat this?
Yes! Bolura is safe for ducks, geese, turkeys, quail, and other poultry. Just use the feeding guide to pick the right amount for your flock size.
